  • Arnica tablets - can help reduce brusing and aid recovery after the birth
  • Maternity clothes to travel home in!  Depressing as it may be, most women will still need to wear maternity clothes for a while after the birth.  Usually what fitted you around the 5 month mark is the best option.  There is nothing more depressing than realizing that your favourite pre-baby jeans won't do up and you have nothing else with you to wear home.

  • For Dad/Birth partner:

  • 1 * Camera (Put it in your labour bag so you can't forget it!)
  • 1 * Notebook and pen (to keep track of contractions etc.)
  • Plenty of call credit for mobile phone or a call card
  • List of people to call afterwards
  • snacks for labour
  • Something to read.
