The TV production company, Sideline, is producing a second series of the popular "Baby on Board" for RTE 1 Television and they've asked us to let our customers know that they are looking for families who would be interested in participating.
The first series of BABY ON BOARD was a huge success - the 8 part RTE SERIES on Thursday evenings at 8.30pm in early summer 2007 won an average TV audience of 400,000 viewers plus another 100,000 on the Sunday repeat.
The series focuses on parents and families with babies/toddlers from 0 - 3 years so it is not just about the birthing process or the first few months of life but includes a wide area of related subject matter that effects home and family life as a result.
The new series is now looking for brand new stories and parents with problems centred around pregnancy, birth and the development of babies / toddlers up to 3 years of age and that they are willing to share their story with a national TV audience. Over all it is a positive series and a trained midwife / public health nurse plus a wide range of experts are there to help out.
They are now seeking parents and 'parents to be' who are interested in taking part in the second series. The birth does not have be their first or their first family (2nd marriage or new relationship etc).
Any interested applicants can then contact

Areas that were not covered in the first series, which we would also be very keen to cover in the second series are 'stay at home' dads, home births, single fathers, post natal depression, adoption, a baby with special needs, and a family with triplets. There are many more issues and we are keen to hear from parents nationwide.
For a detailed breakdown of the issues that were covered in Series 1 log onto www.rte.ie/tv/babyonboard . Please remember that the same issues with a different cast and story can still be very fresh and worthy of inclusion. No sleeping, sibling rivalry etc issues for example are the same.
