Hurray, what a beautiful few days it’s been. We were invited to a neighbours house for a BBQ this afternoon and what a perfect day for it - not too warm and not too chilly. A lovely afternoon relaxing while the kids ran around playing happily in the sunshine. The baby obviously likes the sunshine too as it kicked away merrily inside when I sat with my belly up to the sun so I was interested to read HERE that babies in the womb can “see” the sun as a warm glow if you’re exposing your tummy!

Okay, I’ll admit that I had great intentions when I started this blog of keeping it regularly updated…..but 3 kids and a website to keep track of make finding time semi-impossible. My bump is progressing nicely, this beautiful weather (mostly) we’ve been having has been a great excuse to top-up my maternity wardrobe. I have my eye on this 2 Pack of Camisoles with a built in bra, they’ll be great for hot summer days and under tops on cooler evenings and they’ll both go great with the white linen trousers that I still have from my second pregnancy, I’m get lots of wear out of them this time around - HURRAY for the sun!

Today was my little lady’s first visit to her “Big” school where she will start in September. The school had an open day for the new junior infants and their parents this afternoon. She had a ball, when I returned to the classroom to pick her up after the parent’s orientation I found a very contented little lady busy drawing pictures. No sobbing and weeping from my princess - nope! She was even more impressed to find that her new teacher had also been her Daddy’s junior infants teacher too! Afterwards I had some work to do so I was relieved to find I had washed my very, very favourite black bengalin trousers, these babies are now on their 3rd pregnancy with me and have been washed and worn to death but still look good as new, comfortable as old socks but easy to smarten up or dress down, thank Goodness for them cos I know I’ll be wearing them for at least 3 months post-pregnancy too!

Well aparently it’s been something of a heatwave in Ireland over the past weekend - I wouldn’t know, I was too busy experiencing REAL heat while over visiting my sister in Atlanta, Georgia. Phew, am I glad I said I wouldn’t visit her any later in the summer, temperatures on Sunday hit the mid-30’s, cue one half baked pregnant lady lolling in an ungainly manner on a blanket under a tree while watching her younger and evidently much fitter sister play a game of hurling! Fair play little sis! Clothes wise I was very glad I’d decided to wear leggings for travelling - plenty of room for expansion and no zips, buttons or buckles to dig in when I tried to get comfy in the plane.

Well today was a bit of a milestone pregnancy wise. At the tender stage of just 15 weeks + 2 days another mum approached me outside my son’s school to ask me tentatively was that ” a little bump” she could see….. I was very tempted to say “no” and act put-out but that would have been a bit mean so I confessed that I was indeed expecting no. 4. I was quite pleased that my bulge is looking baby-like and not too-many-cakes-like.
